One small next step
One small next step is the one thing you can do in the next few minutes to move a task on.
In Stoodo, every piece of homework and every plan shows one.
First step, right now: think of one job you've been putting off. Finish this sentence: "First, I open…"
What a good next step looks like
- You can see it. "Open your notes from Monday", not "Revise".
- It names one thing. One book, one file, one question.
- It's short. A few minutes, not an evening.
- It starts with a verb. Open, read, write, pick, find.
Examples
- "Revise French" becomes "Open your French notes from Monday. Pick three points."
- "Write the history essay" becomes "Read the essay question. Underline the key words."
- "Sort out the trip" becomes "Find the letter about the trip."
How it works in Stoodo
Stoodo (stoodo.app) is a study app for UK A level students aged 15 and over. Send in homework as a photo, a screenshot, a PDF or a forwarded email. Stoodo finds the due date and writes one small first step. Today shows what's next. When you finish a step, tick it. Then the next one. One done, one next.
Stoodo uses Claude, an AI model by Anthropic, to write the first step.
Made with AI. Check anything important.
