How we market Stoodo
Stoodo is for students aged 15 and over, so most of the people it's made for are under 18. We market it the way we'd want our own children marketed to.
Here are the rules, in one place, for students, parents, schools and journalists.
First step: if you see us break one of these, email hello@stoodo.app.
What we don't do
- No adverts aimed at under-16s. We don't run paid adverts yet. When we do, they won't be aimed at anyone under 16.
- No adverts in the app. And no tracking cookies or behavioural ads. The public site sets no cookies.
- No streaks. No countdowns, no "you're falling behind", no "you missed a day".
- No referral cash. Nobody is ever paid money for bringing in a friend. We never ask for your contacts or your friends' emails.
- No selling data. Your notes are used only to make your own cards and plans.
- No pushing students to get a parent to pay. For under-18s, a parent or carer chooses Plus. We never tell students to ask for it.
- No health or grade promises. We say Stoodo is designed for students who find it hard to start. We don't say it treats anything, and we don't promise results.
- No claims we can't prove. We don't call Stoodo the top app for anything. If we compare Stoodo with another app, we use one fact you can check, with the date we checked it.
- No fake reviews. We'll only quote people who said yes in writing, and a parent too if they're under 18.
How we use AI
Stoodo uses Claude, an AI model by Anthropic.
- It reads what you send in, finds homework and due dates, and writes one small first step.
- It makes revision cards from your own notes, and only from your notes.
- Ask Claude gives hints, never the answer.
- What students type is checked before the AI sees it.
- Your notes are not used to train the AI.
- AI can be wrong. Check anything important.
We write this in plain text. We don't use Anthropic's or Claude's logos.
Exam boards
We never copy specification text, past paper questions or mark schemes, and we never use exam board logos.
When we post
- The founder always says he's the founder. No posting as a "fellow parent" or a "student".
- Any gifted or paid post is labelled "Ad" at the start.
- Screenshots and videos use made-up notes, never a real student's.
Made with AI. Check anything important.
