What is Stoodo?
Stoodo is a study app for UK A level students. It turns your own notes into revision cards and gives each piece of homework one small first step.
- Who it's for: students aged 15 and over taking A levels in the UK. Other post-16 courses come later.
- What it does: homework from a photo, PDF, typed note or forwarded email gets a due date and one small first step. Notes you send in become revision cards overnight, and the cards come back at the right time. It also holds your timetable, term dates, holidays and the things outside college.
- What it costs: a Free plan, free for good, no card. Plus is £3.99 a month or £34.99 a year, including VAT, with 14 days free and no card. Nothing can be bought yet.
- Status: invite only for now. People join the waitlist and come in a few at a time.
- Where it works: in any phone or computer browser, and it installs on an iPhone or Android home screen. There's no App Store app yet.
- The AI: Stoodo uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Cards come only from your own notes. Your notes are not used to train the AI. AI can be wrong, so check anything important.
- Who runs it: Uppingham Inc, a small company founded by a UK parent. Email hello@stoodo.app.
- Your data: kept in the EU, never sold, no adverts. Download it or delete it all at any time.
Questions people ask
Is Stoodo free?
Yes. The Free plan is free for good, with no card. It includes revising every set you have, homework you type in, your timetable, Life plans and reminders, and a small monthly allowance of AI: 10 notes into cards and 10 homework sorts a month. Plus adds more, and the better Claude model.
Does Stoodo do my homework for me?
No. It gives you one small first step, like "Read the first question." Ask Claude gives hints, not answers. The work stays yours.
Can it turn my notes into flashcards?
Yes. Send a photo, a PDF or typed notes, or back up from Notability or GoodNotes. The cards are ready the next morning. Plus also makes quizzes, mind maps, timelines and exam-style questions from the same notes.
Which exam boards does it work with?
Any. The cards come from your notes, not from a board's material, so it works with AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, WJEC Eduqas, WJEC, CCEA and Cambridge International. Stoodo isn't made, endorsed or checked by any exam board.
Is it good for students who find it hard to get started?
That's who it was designed for. Every task starts with one small, concrete step. There are no streaks, no guilt and no "you missed a day". Ten cards is a whole session, and stopping is fine.
Is it safe for under-18s?
It was built for them. Settings are private by default. We follow UK data protection law and the ICO's Children's Code. What students type is checked before the AI sees it. There are no adverts and we never sell data. More on the page for parents.
Can teachers use it?
Not as a class tool yet. Teachers can join the waitlist to hear when it opens for schools and colleges.
